Cairo 4 is made from the soft undercoat of baby camels. The individual hairs are extremely fine with a fiber diameter of 16 to 20 microns. Therefore, the wool is very soft on the skin and is comparable to cashmere. Cairo 4 has an evenly turned yarn which makes it stable yet soft. The yarn has a slight sheen and a very fine down. Due to the natural undertones of camel hair, the colors of Cairo 4 are rather subdued.

The camel hair of Cairo 4 comes from Inner Mongolia and is spun in China. It is dyed in Portugal unbleached, to avoid unnecessary pollution.

Cairo 4 is pleasant to work with and has a very uniform stitch definition. It is perfect for all kinds of stitches and looks very stylish when knitted in stocking stitch. The yarn is perfect for light but warm knits. The fiber is so delicate and fine that even people with sensitive skin can wear Cairo 4.

Since the wool is so fine that it does not split or lint when knitting, it also does not lint when the finished garment is worn. Cairo 4 is great for pullovers, cardigans, shawls and hats.

Origin: Fiber: camel ~ Inner Mongolia, shot in China, colored in Portugal.
